A one day practical course in PAT Testing – hands on training, with a certificate issued at the end, with free training materials and ongoing support and guidance. Taught by the UK’s leading expert in PAT Testing!

The course is based on the latest information available – Tim James, your tutor, was one of the authors of the latest IET Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment, but also takes into account the two new British Standards (BS EN 50699 and BE EN 50678) and information from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE)

PAT Testing has always been a necessity in businesses but recent changes to rental property law has meant that landlords and holiday home owners are now having to carry out PAT Testing as well – the course will cover all of the recent changes to make sure that you’re equipped with the very latest advice and guidance available.

Our courses are a mix of relevant theory and practical work – the best way to learn this vital skill is by DOING it – our courses contain a significant amount of hands-on practical – using a variety of different PAT Testing machines and a huge range of appliances to test. There is no examiniation on our course, but a lot of hands-on practical and we limit the number of people on each course to make sure that everyone learns what they need from the tutor.

We currently use 2 venues across Scotland – this page will give information on all of them and list the next available date at each one.

Our Scotland Venues are:-

We also have plans to host courses in Aberdeen- to register your interested in courses at this location please contact us on 01482 827744 or info@pat-testing-expert.com

Unlike many of our competitors, we use high-quality hotels and conference centres for our training courses – we recognise that training is a big deal for you, and we don’t want you spending the day in a cramped stuffy room where you can’t concentrate! We hold our PAT courses in the best venues we can find. They are all easily accessible by car and public transport.

The venues at Edinburgh and Glasgow both provide free car-parking.

Remember! If you have more than 5 people to train, you may find it cheaper to organise an in-house course (at your premises) or we can arrange a special date for you at a nearby hotel or conference centre. Contact us for more information.

Our PAT Testing course has been designed to take someone with little or no background knowledge to the point where they can PAT test equipment in their own workplace or even offer a PAT Testing service to other people. Many of our previous customers work in schools, residential care homes, charities, offices, TV and film companies, equipment hire etc. The course is a mix of theory and practical – telling you what you need to know and then giving you an opportunity to put it into practice straight away – unlike most courses we run a LOT of practicals on the day, and the whole day is designed to teach you what you need to know without getting bogged down in unnecessary detail.

We run courses at other locations across the UK including ManchesterSheffield, Southampton and Hull
